O SAPIENTIA

The CD was an exciting undertaking which comprised twentieth and twenty-first century choral music by Rakhmaninov, Stravinsky and Richard Rodney Bennett with world premiere recordings of works by Richard Pantcheff, Ian Higginson, Malcolm Pearce, Peter Leech and Adrian Self.

The name chosen for the CD has been taken from the Sequentia Amoris, a work commissioned from Adrian Self, sections of which are included on the CD. Also included are pieces by composer Bryan Kelly, a past Honorary President of the Choir, whose music always delights both singers and audiences.

The disc is the third in a series of choral recordings undertaken by professional engineers Ian and Janine Higginson whose label PAREC has achieved great success with discs featuring the Bristol Bach Choir and The Cathedral Singers of Christ Church, Oxford.
